Hey, I’m Reno, a London based researcher-slash-technologist. I’m a proud Aussie with Scottish and Italian roots which means I’d enjoy roasting a Ventricina haggis on the barbie at the beach, if such a thing existed. I have a serious addiction to coffee, video games (Zelda is my jam), hiking, and geeking out on retro computing. Glenn Gould’s 1955 Goldberg Variations are more to my taste than the 1981 although either would make fine desert island discs and yes… I still buy discs.
It is a great privilege to serve as an elected Public Governor of ELFT (representing the City of London constituency) where I speak up for patients and members in order to help shape the delivery of inpatient and community mental health services.
I am fascinated by the intersection of entrepreneurship and technology strategy and have a particular interest in how large companies can shape the creation and capture of value in dynamic and uncertain environments where disruptive technological discontinuities are rife.
Lastly, I will admit to dabbling with Polars and Altair because I love workflow calamity. Someday Streamlit will be on that list too. In my heart of hearts I use vi but in practice it’s VSCode with Copilot all the way down.
